Atlanta Motor Speedway's 2016 Road Course Championships, will return to Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville, Georgia Nov. 19 for Week 3 action after hosting its series finale there last September. The venue, a fast, technical 1.14-mile course, will inject extra intrigue into the four-event series and test competitors' skills with an unfamiliar change in scenery.

Making both left- and right-hand turns, Legends and Bandolero drivers will experience door-to-door racing on the winding North Georgia course for just the second time ever. With one of the most well-equipped and diverse facilities in the South, AMS officials have lauded the track for its knack for producing edge-of-your seat racing while serving as an invaluable training ground for developing drivers.

"The opportunity to race at Atlanta Motorsports Park has added an extra buzz of excitement among drivers in the garage over the past few weeks," said Atlanta Motor Speedway president Ed Clark. "It offers a high level of competition and a chance for competitors to experience the thrill of road course racing at its best."

On-track action will kick off with practice sessions at 9 a.m. before heat races roll off the grid at 10:15 a.m. Feature races will follow with the Rookie Bandoleros class, the combined Bandits/Outlaws class, the combined Young Lions/Semi-Pro class, the combined Pro/Masters class and finally the Thunder Roadster class.

Pre-registration is available through Nov. 17 at a cost of $40 per driver and $20 for pit/crew passes. Competitors can sign up at the AMS Legends office or by contacting AMS Legends director Ken Ragan. Registrations after Nov. 17 will increase to $50 and $30 respectively and late-entry drivers will start in the rear of the field.

Atlanta Motor Speedway has hosted U.S. Legends and Bandolero racing for 19 consecutive years since its inaugural season on the quarter-mile Thunder Ring in 1998. Among its notable alumni, current NASCAR drivers include 2015 Daytona 500 winner Joey Logano, 2014 XFINITY Series champion and current driver of the No. 24 car in the Cup Series Chase Elliott, David Ragan, Reed Sorensen, Austin Dillon and William Byron.
