My current home track is Elko Speedway, but for many, many years my home track was Texas Motor Speedway
How long have you been racing and how did you get started?
I have been racing legends for 13 years but started racing karts when I was 9. My parents and I attended the NASCAR races at TMS like we did every year and saw the Legends race on the 1/4 mile after the NASCAR series had finished. They looked awesome and sparked my interest. We attended a driving school session, spoke with a local handler, Buddy Goudy, and the rest was history.
What is your memorable racing moment this season?
I would have to say without a doubt, the Pro A-Main at Asphalt Nationals. It was one roller coaster of a race for me where I had to finish in a certain spot to gain the title. The thrill of victory and everybody's congratulations in post-race tech was one for the record books.
What advice do you have for the next group of drivers following behind you?
You can never get enough seat time, and never, ever give up.
What are your plans for the 2019 season?
Continue racing while I have a ton of momentum, build a new FZ09, shoot for the Asphalt AND Dirt Nationals win.
What does this championship season mean to you?
I mean, this is what racers and teams try and win every year. Some have multiple, some have one, and some have none. It's an indescribable feeling to be called CHAMP no matter what series you race in or what sport you play.
What was the biggest struggle you were able to overcome this season?
Gotta be the A-Main race at the Bullring. Being able to push through and drive from 18th up to 4th was TOUGH, especially in the Pro division.
Who would you like to thank?
Oh man, gotta thank my mentor and boss, Tim Brockhouse for moving me up to Minnesota to go to work for him and be surrounded by a great group. My right-hand shop and track man Doug Kelly. Jim Scanlan for funding me a top-notch racecar. Paul and Bill "Wee Willy" Scanlan for all of their insight. Amanda Brockhouse for allowing me to live under her roof for two years and supplying me with a healthy dinner each night. Everybody at USLCI for their dedicated work. Both of my parents, who never stop believing in me and support me 110% and last but not least, my lord and savior Jesus Christ.
