Crossville Raceway will host the 2015 Dirt Nationals
U.S. Legend Cars is teaming up with Crossville Raceway in Crossville, Tennessee to host the 2015 Dirt Nationals October 8-10.
The 1/3 miles dirt track is home to Legends, as well as, Late Models, Sportsman, Street Stocks, Stock Trucks, Mod-Lites, Dwarfs, Legends, Hornets, and Jr. Hornets.
Fitzgerald has been involved in racing since the age of 14. Originally his father purchased both him and his brother, Robert, brand new cars from U.S. Legends to race on their back yard dirt track after school and on the weekends. After a few years of hard racing, both cars went into storage, until 2012 when Tommy and his sister, Lisa Marie, decided and get them both running again.
Since most of the Legend Cars in the surrounding areas were running asphalt, Buddy and Sandy, owner/operators of the Crossville Raceway, and Fitzgerald started small with up to 6-8 cars running two cars head to head until they were able to attract some attention for the sport.
"I'm very excited for the opportunity to merge the Dirt Nationals with the annual Crossville Legends Shootout. I'm a huge fan of dirt racing and love running my legend around a track," says Fitzgerald. "Especially with drivers like Tim Brockhouse, Doug Stevens, Justin Comer, and the defending champ Zach Dunsmore! I learn more every time I get to run with these guys when they come in once a year for the shootout."
