  • How long have you been racing/How did you get started?
    • I've been racing for eight years. I started driving quads at two years old, and ran my first ever at the age of four.
  • Most memorable racing moment this season?
    • There wasn't really one race that was the biggest, but definitely winning the overall [points] championship was the best!
  • What advice do you have for the next group of drivers following behind you?
    • Pick a goal for the year, and focus on that.
  • What are your plans for the 2018 season?
    • I'm going to race my first full year as a Young Lion in a Legend Car, and have plans to test in a late model.
  • What does this championship mean to you?
    • It means a lot to me. It's a goal I set at the start of the 2017. I'm really happy I accomplished it.

    • I started at the age of five when my dad bought my first go cart for me. My grandfather, who is now my crew chief, raced dirt late models around South and North Carolina for more than 30 years so it is as you say in my blood.

  • What are your plans for the 2018 season?

  • What does this championship mean to you?
    • To me personally, it hasn't sunk in yet but when it does I feel like it will mean pride for my whole family. These past four years have been full of ups and downs, but this year it has just seemed like everything clicked. It really means a lot to say a kid from the town with a population of a little over 800 people is a National Champion in one of the toughest series in racing.
  • Who would you like to thank?
    • My Paw Paw Roddey, My family for all the sacrifices they have made for me to accomplish my dream also all my sponsors Farmers Service Center, Hi Way Junkyard, Scott Falls Trucking, and CCS Of York County, Also the people I call my racetrack family's who we have helped with advice and setups this year but have helped us as well so a big thank you to The Clark and the Daniels Family.

  • What are your plans for the 2018 season?

  • Home track?
    • Colorado National Speedway
  • How long have you been racing/How did you get started?
    • I grew up around racing as my Dad and uncle, Bill McHone, raced late models and super modifieds in Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska.  I also helped build mini-stocks and helped with sprint cars along the way. In 2007, I was given a chance to drive my Bill McHone's Legend Car, #06. This is something I had always wanted to do and I will always be grateful to Bill for giving me a chance to finally get behind the wheel. In 2008, I bought the '34 Ford Coupe, which I currently drive. The best part of the whole racing experience so far has been making a lot of new friends and especially spending time with old friends, plus my dad gets to work on the car.
  • Most memorable racing moment this season?
    • Finishing the nationals race in Las Vegas knowing that we won the national championship. Then standing at the trophy presentation with so many friends and family there with me.
  • What advice do you have for the next group of drivers following behind you?
    • Don't be afraid to try new things. Working on what you think you know can keep you from learning and getting faster. Especially, question whether you have approached your driving the right way.  Listen to the people trying to help and don't be too proud to take their advice.
  • What are your plans for the 2018 season?
    • Not sure at this point. We will be racing Legend Cars, just not sure how much. Some of that depends on where nationals will be raced in 2018
  • What does this championship mean to you?
    • It means validation of the teams perseverance and hard work.  There are so many people that worked hard to accomplish this goal. The championship mostly grateful for all of their hard work and help.
  • Who would you like to thank?
    • My Dad, Butch Scott, who has helped me from the beginning and has always been my inspiration in this sport.  I have always wanted to be as good as I knew he was when I was a kid.  Also, Phil Peconi.  His love of all forms of racing and his hard work kept all of us in tune into what makes this sport great.  Finally, I would like to thank my wife and kids.  Their patience and support is always motivating and I will always be grateful.

  • Home Track?
    • I have adopted The Peterborough Speedway in Peterborough, Ontario as my home track after the Capital City Speedway in Ottawa, Ontario closed.
  • How long have you been racing/How did you get started?
    • I have been racing for 15 years. When I was 11 years old I wanted to race go-karts. My parents told me they would buy me one if I could save $1,000 towards the venture, they would pitch in the rest. That summer I started a grass cutting business and saved up the money. The following winter my dad and I purchased a couple of karts and racing has become an integral part of our family's lives.
  • Most memorable racing moment this season?
    • The most memorable racing moment this race season was a long moment starting at the end of 2016; winning the Autumn Colors Classic stretching into 2017. I would go on the longest winning streak of my life, winning 10 races in a row.
  • What advice do you have for the next group of drivers following behind you?
    • My advice for the next up and coming drivers would be to always look forward at the goals you have set. If you work hard and persevere through the hard times you can make your goals and dreams a reality. How you respond to the ups and downs, the struggles will make all the difference in how successful you can be on the track or in life. Those setbacks can teach you how to cope and deal with your future challenges in racing and life. Set your mind to the task at hand, put in the preparation and go out there and just do the best you can. Have fun!
  • What are your plans for the 2018 season?
    • My plans for the 2018 season is to continue racing legend cars in the Eastern Ontario Legends Series. I would like to run Winter Nationals in Florida or the Summer ShootOut in Charlotte and get a few more U.S. races in during the summer months if time and the budget allows.
  • What does this championship mean to you?
    • This championship is the pinnacle of legends racing. Since I first started racing legends in 2009 it was a dream to win a National Championship; however, it always seemed out of reach living in Canada and not having the ability to run full race seasons in the USA. It's exciting for not only myself but my fellow racers in the Eastern Ontario legends series, bringing legitimacy to our series and putting it on the map that drivers from Canada, with our short race seasons, can be as fast and compete with our American brothers and sisters.
  • Who would you like to thank?
    • My Wife, Kaitlyn and Kids Emma and Hayden! US Legend Cars & INEX for making it possible. GE, Chad and the entire engine shop for sticking with me since the beginning. Devo and Kevin Foisy for being there for the entire journey. Jeff & Jessica Drimmie of JDC Motorsports for the opportunity and believing in me. My crew, Dad, Mom, Ron and Wayne. My sponsors to whom nothing would be possible without them, Pieter and Sean Delaney of Sillworks Parts Direct (the ultimate fan and sponsor) who gave me my first grass cutting contract and never wavered with his continued support.  Uncle Mike of Pinnacle Autoworks, Julio Pasinetti of Stittsville Foundry, Jason's Landscaping, Kawartha Outdoor Décor, Trailers Plus and Ball's Dolls B&B. And of course my past sponsors and my fans who helped and followed me everywhere….you know who you are! THANK YOU

  • How long have you been racing/How did you get started?
    • This past season was my seventh year racing. I got started racing through my uncle, and cousin who raced go-karts nationally.  When I was seven I sat in a kart for the first time on a practice day, and was hooked right away. After that day we started looking for a kart, and began racing the following spring when I was eight.
  • Most memorable racing moment this season?
    • If I had to pick one memory that sticks out from this season I would have to pick the first race of the season. It started out as a road course weekend when we were on our way to the track.  One of my teammates decided to buy a car on the way to the track, which I wasn't expecting and run the race the following day. This made both of us rookies on the road course to start the 2017 season, and we raced very closely to each other both days of competition. This friendly rivalry lasted all season long.

    • This championship means a great deal to me and my team.  At the start of the season this is what we set out to do. With countless hours working on the car it is evident that hard work does pay off.  This championship gave me a great boost of confidence to use heading into 2018.
