On Monday night, Round 2 of the 2025 Cook Out Summer Shootout resumed at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Booth34DieCast Qualifying for the Beginner Bandoleros and Bandits had been completed on June 10th, but rain had forced the remainder of qualifying to be postponed. The weather stayed away long enough to complete Round 2 qualifying but Mother Nature reared her ugly head once again, forcing INEX Racing Series and Charlotte Motor Speedway officials to delay Bandolero racing until Tuesday, June 17th. But not the Legend Cars, which gave us no shortage of excitement as the track transitioned from a wet and damp track into the dry by night's end.
The first green flag for Round 2 on Monday was the Chargers Legend Car Division. With the sunsetting and the track lit up, they took to the track with still damp conditions. Despite track conditions, it was all gas, no brakes as Cash LeCroy. He was the Booth34DieCast Fastest Qualifier and immediately took charge in the Chargers Division. From start to finish, LeCroy stayed in the front of the pack, not losing his edge for a second. While the rest of the field were slipping and sliding due to wet track conditions, LeCroy was able to glide through lap traffic almost effortlessly. Even after a caution flag had come out, LeCroy continued to dominate the division and took his commanding lead into victory lane.
In the Young Lions Division, there was a hunger for competition. The Young Lions brought it with nonstop position changes and tight-knit racing. Colt Johnson started the race out in the lead with Spencer Bradshaw, Ben Morabito, and Colton Hale in tow. For the first couple of laps, Johnson was in the lead with Hale right on his heels until Lap 4 when Hale bumped Johnson out of the lead and took his spot in the front with Bradshaw running in second. Hale continued to lead until Lap 9, when Bradshaw took the inside and gained the lead. After a caution flag, Bradshaw was able to jump into the lead with Hale running behind him until Lap 15, where two other drivers' cars that had made contact and spun out caused a caution flag, shortening the field again. After the restart, Bradshaw kept his lead and then from there he was uncatchable, cruising to his second Cook Out Summer Shootout victory in 2025 in as many races.
Showcasing what they are made of, the Dilling Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electrical Pro Division showed the other divisions on Monday why they are truly the best in the land. The Pro race featured Danny Chisholm taking the lead from start to finish, but not without pressure from Bubba Wallace. A competitive battle ensued throughout the race as Chisholm pulled every move out of his bag of tricks to keep Wallace from passing him. After a couple of caution flags had come out during the race, the Pros had reached their time limit, and with one final yellow flag, Chisholm was able to escape with the win, with Bubba Wallace settling for second.
It was high energy and a lot of position changes in the VP Racing Fuels Semi-Pro Division. Dylan Faulkner kicked off the race in the lead, gaining a huge jump on the rest of the field. Faulkner continued to stay in front until Lap 4, when Hunter Jordan bumped Faulkner, causing a caution flag to come out. After the restart, Issac Kitzmiller who was behind Faulkner, assumed the lead and then from there took off with it. The time limit had been reached due to the number of caution flags that the Semi-Pro Division race endured. When Neal Dulin made contact with J.R. Allen, resulting in a final caution, Kitzmiller was granted the victory.
The Masters Division brought experience and intensity to the track. The race started with Dwayne Holder in the lead but he was quickly challenged by Kyle Beattie who took the inside and took over the front spot by Lap 2. Just one lap later, Thomas Sherman snuck into the lead while Beattie and Holder battled for the top spot. With the top four tightly packed, the fight for positioning heated up. By Lap 7, it was a three-way battle between the Beattie, Robby Faggart and Sherman. During Lap 9, Beattie and Faggart began to pull away from Sherman. The field was stretched out by Lap 14, with the front four separating from the rest. As the race drew closer the end. Faggart and Beattie began to trade places back and forth for the lead until a caution flag came out on Lap 20. After the restart, Faggart wasted no taking the lead for his own and kept the pedal to the metal. Beattie was right on his bumper, but it was Faggart in Charlotte Motor Speedway victory lane after the checkered flag.
The remaining Bandolero features for Round 2 of the Cook Out Summer Shootout will resume on Tuesday, June 17th, before the start of the regularly scheduled Round 3 on-track activities. Grandstands will open at 4pm ET at Charlotte Motor Speedway, with coverage on FloRacing beginning at 4pm.
