HARRISBURG, N.C. (September 18, 2026) Road course racing at America’s Home for Racing will look a little different in 2027. Following a successful debut in January 2026, Legend Cars return to the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL™ in 2027, this time under a new name: the INEX Carolina ROVAL™ Series.
The Carolina ROVAL™ Series will succeed the INEX Winter Heat Series on the calendar, which in recent seasons has evolved into road course-only events after historically featuring a mixture of oval and road course competition.
The series will consist of three weekends across January and February. Legend Cars will utilize the INEX ROVAL™ configuration, while Bandoleros will continue to compete on the interior road course configuration within the infield of Charlotte’s oval.
The opening weekend is set for January 22nd-24th, followed by January 29th-31st, with the series concluding February 26th-28th. INEX National Qualifier features will be contested on January 24th and February 28th. In total, nine feature races are planned for each division during the Carolina ROVAL™ Series.
Combined with the 10 feature races previously announced for the 2026-27 Silver State Road Course Series at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in November and December, Legend Car and Bandolero drivers will have 19 opportunities to capture valuable road course points for the 2027 season before March even begins.
But the road course action at Charlotte doesn’t stop in February.
A weekend in August will bring another exciting slate of road course competition for Legend Cars and Bandoleros. The ROVAL™ Rumble, August 20th-22nd, will feature three additional rounds of road course racing for Legend Cars while also serving as the host weekend for the 2027 INEX Bandolero Road Course Nationals.
Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws will compete in a single feature race on Saturday, an INEX National Qualifier, before taking center stage Sunday for their Road Course National Championship Feature races.
Additional 2027 INEX Racing Series national event dates will be announced at a later date, including the host track and dates for the 2027 INEX Road Course World Finals for Legend Cars.
Schedule details for both the Carolina ROVAL™ Series and ROVAL™ Rumble will be released at a later date.
