From dramatic last second position changes to intense caution-filled races, every division brought its own level of chaos Tuesday during Round 7 of the 2025 Cookout Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Through the chaotic thrills, new faces found their way to victory lane, some for the first time ever at America’s Home for Racing!

The Young Lions Division had a fierce display of competition in the top five positions during Round 7 with a twist at the end. They were also able to get through the entire race without a single caution flag coming out.  The race started with Colton Hale in front with Spencer Bradshaw, Ben Morabito, Colt Johnson and Case James to tow. For the majority of the race, Hale had a strong lead with the field following single file behind him as the battle was mainly between the top five. As the drivers entered into Lap 19, the top five began to weave through traffic while Bradshaw and Morabito was on the bumper of Hale, strongly pursuing him. Hale continued to stay in the lead until Lap 20, where Bradshaw and Morabito both took the inside and overtook Hale, and on the final lap going into Turn 3, Morabito used his bumper a little too hard on Bradshaw, sending the latter around. As a result, James was awarded the victory, his first of the series.

Intense and caution-filled, the Bandit Division was on a “10” as soon as the race started. Maverick Bradshaw and Brexton Busch went straight into racing side by side, with Busch coming out on top and taking the lead during the fourth lap. After resuming the race after a caution flag on Lap 5, Busch jumped right back into the lead with Bradshaw, Gerald White III, Taegan Knowland and Roo Reaves following right behind. A big moment happened on Lap 9, where Reaves made contact with Busch’s car knocking them out of line and bringing out the caution. This opportunity would not be missed by James Behnke who seized the lead after the restart on Lap 10. With the time limit being reached after another caution, Behnke never looked back as he had open road in front of him to cement his win in Round 7 and with a final caution flag, Behnke’s victory was sealed.

Much like the Young Lions and Bandits, from the very first lap of the Outlaws feature, the tone was set as the drivers entered the second lap four-wide. Chase Spaulding came out of the four-wide racing and started leading as Landon Thrasher and Carson Sherman followed in his tire tracks. The race would remain the same with Spaulding almost pulling away until a caution flag came during the sixth lap. After the restart, Spaulding was poised to jump back into the lead but Sherman had other plans as he took the inside lane and overtook Spaulding going into Lap 9. From there it was an all-out battle between the pole sitters as Sherman led with Thrasher, with Spaulding and Rylan Speight all trading positions for the lead spot. As the race continued on, Sherman stayed up front, with Spaulding and Thrasher fighting for second place. The time flag was displayed during a late-race caution. Sherman went right back to leading as the field resumed racing. Thrasher and Spaulding were unable to catch up, thus allowing Sherman to take home what was a very emotional win.

The Charger Division was competitive to the very last lap as Brexton Busch kicked off the race with the lead. Busch continued to lead, gaining at least ten car lengths on the rest of the field until a caution flag came out after two cars made contact and spun out. After the restart and with the field shortened, the lead was up for grabs with Busch in the lead again but this time with Cole Gudmestad and Camden Truett following right behind him. As the race went on, Busch continued to lead until Lap 17 where Gudmestad made contact with Busch’s car, sending both to the back of the field during the subsequent restart. Truett inherited the lead with Max Calles and Paityn Feyen on his tail during the restart. Right after taking a lead, it was then a battle between Truett and Calles, and in a final lap shootout, Truett held on to win and escape into victory lane.

Once the green flag flew in the VP Racing Fuels Semi-Pro Division it was an all-out battle with Chase Burgeson leading. The beginning of the race was mostly single-file with Burgeson taking the lead with Neal Dulin, Dylan Faulkner, and Hunter Jordan following closely behind. Though Burgeson was in the lead, Faulkner and Jordan was right on his bumper at every turn. Jordan snatched the lead after getting to Burgeson’s inside on Lap 6, and Burgeson was stuck on the outside, losing a few positions. Jordan stayed the leader until a car spun out and caused a caution flag to come out. After the restart, Dulin was in second and on Jordan’s bumper and it wouldn’t take long for the two racers to start battling. As the race drew near the end, Dulin was able to slip into the lead during Lap 23. Another caution flag that had come out could not stop Dulin from reassuming the lead after the restart and Dulin stole the show and the win as he rode into victory lane.

Showing why they are the best in the land, the Dilling Pro Division was filled with competitive spirit and tough battling. It was a battle of the frontrunners as Tyler Reif, Jake Bollman and Daniel Wilk immediately separated themselves from the field. Jensen Jorgensen was close to closing the gap mid-race and during Lap 15, was able to get into the lead after a caution flag shortened the field. After a battle between Wilk and Jorgensen, Jorgensen got bumped to the outside lane as Reif, Bollman and Danny Chisholm took the inside lane and began to pull away from the rest of the field. Though multiple caution flags came out, Reif could not be caught, riding into victory lane, yet another first time winner on the day.

The American Rebel Beer Masters Division was full of cutthroat racing. Nobody gave an inch of space at the start as the green flag waved. Kyle Busch took the lead, with Robby Faggart, Jesse Bunnell and Jeff Bolen in the top four. From start to finish Busch took a commanding lead, staying in front of the rest of the field for the entire race. Faggart was close to making a move on Busch but did not have enough laps left to make a move, allowing Busch to seal the win.

Wyatt Linker stole the show in the Beginner Bandolero A Feature as he held off constant pressure from Brody Zacharias and Owen Price. Linker controlled the front of the field through multiple restarts and battles behind him. As the race went on, Linker continued to build his lead, and with the time limit approaching, he continued to not look back as he took his commanding lead and drove right into victory lane. Jordyn Whitford scored the victory in the Beginner Bandolero B Feature, her first victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Round 6 was completed before the start of Round 7. Chase Burgeson was won the VP Racing Fuels Semi-Pro feature, which had completed 10 laps one week prior. Jensen Jorgensen captured the Dilling Pro Division victory and Kyle Beattie returned to Charlotte Motor Speedway victory lane in the American Rebel Beer Masters Division.

Brexton Busch now leads Behnke by 28 points in the Bandits Division after seven rounds. Landon Thrasher’s command over Carson Sherman in the Outlaws Division stands at 33 points. In the Young Lions Division, Colton Hale leads Spencer Bradshaw by five points, with Ben Morabito trailing by 14.

Robby Faggart holds a 34-point advantage over Kyle Beattie in the American Rebel Beer Masters Division. In the VP Racing Fuels Semi-Pro Division and Dilling Pro Division, there are ties at the top of the board in points.

Dylan Faulkner and Sam Butler are squared up at 570 points each, with Chase Burgeson only nine points back in the Semi-Pro Division. Over in the Pros, Jake Bollman and Keelan Harvick each have 559 points to their names. Danny Chisholm only trails by two points with Tyler Reif back eight.
