The Cook Out Summer Shootout got back to business on Monday. The sounds of over 200 Legend Cars and Bandoleros filled the air all day at Charlotte Motor Speedway, as the drivers had practice in the early afternoon before feature competition got underway.

As the track lights fired up, so did 21 of the best drivers in the Pro Division. Nick Woodall led the pack to green, with Jensen Jorgensen climbing up from fourth to second behind him. Woodall got off to a good start, but Jorgensen got him within a car length before a caution was called on Lap 7. The caution did not change the top two, as Woodall and Jorgensen had a one-second gap over the rest of the field around the halfway mark.

Neal Dulin then entered himself into the conversation with ten to go, sitting in third behind Jorgensen. After a few laps of green flag racing, the chemistry of the race completely changed. Woodall got spun by Jorgensen, sending Jensen to the rear of the field and Woodall into the garage. Dulin got the break of a lifetime, starting up front for the Lap 16 restart alongside Cameron Bolin. Bolin and Spencer Bradshaw split Dulin, making it three wide, which propelled Bradshaw to first, Dulin to second and Bolin to third with six laps to go. Bradshaw was able to stretch his lead out to over half of a second with three to go, and cruised to his first Summer Shootout win of the year.

Colton Hale and Sterling Wrisley led the packed VP Racing Fuels Semi-Pro field to the green, but Mitch Wright immediately shot up from fourth to first before an early Lap 1 caution. Wright and Sterling Wrisley kept their first and second spots for eleven more laps, but Hale had had enough of waiting, as he made a move up to second around halfway through the feature.

Sterling did not back off, though, as he was immediately on Hale’s bumper after a restart. That did not last long as Hale found pace and charged up to Wright, waiting for the perfect time to make a potentially race-winning move. Those two stretched their gap to over a second with only four laps to go. Hale gave it all he had, but the number 21 of Mitch Wright had pace no one could match tonight in the Semi-Pro Division.

The Dilling HVAC Masters Division saw four different rounds with four different winners up to this point, and that continued on Monday night. A common theme in Round 5 was early cautions, and the Masters got just that with a spinout on the first turn of the first lap. The number fives of Brandon Mckenzie and Brandin Wrisley led the field back to green, with Wrisley getting the upper hand and moving into first. Mckenzie did not let him pull away, though, as he was only trailing Wrisley by about a car length or so ten laps in.

The number 81 of Lee Jordan joined the top two, as he was riding right on their bumper alongside Round 2 winner Jesse Bunnell. The top two stretched the gap back out with ten to go, Wrisley still had the upper hand, but that came with immense pressure from behind. Wrisley had even more pressure put on him when a late caution came out with five to go, setting the field up for a shootout. Wrisley got a perfect restart, giving him a two- to three-car-length lead with only a couple to go.  That restart was all he needed to get it done, as Brandin Wrisley became the fifth winner in as many races in the Masters Division; A long awaited Summer Shootout victory, just like his son, Preston, in Round 4.

The Young Lions feature got off to a bumpy start, where there were three yellows before Lap 4, but Jaxon Burnett kept his cool as he stayed up front through the yellows. Burnett brought the field back to green cleanly, but Sam Macedo was on a mission after he and points leader Landon Thrasher passed Burnett on a later restart. With such a good run going, Macedo got involved in an accident on Lap 19, ending his night early. The late caution set up a six-lap shootout, where Brexton Busch made his presence felt sitting right behind Thrasher. As Busch was making ground, a caution after the pink flag was waived ended the race, giving Thrasher another win and some extra cushion in the points standings.

The Outlaw points leader Carson Sherman started third in Round 5 due to the invert, but it took him no more than four laps to work his way to the front. The man who started on top, Lucas McFall, went from the front to the back after he got loose coming around Turn 4, which gave a chance to Round 4 winner Carson Cauble to get into the mix. While the Outlaws were racing hard, a big collision on the front stretch brought out red flag conditions on Lap 10. As the racing resumed, Sherman started right where he left off as he quickly extended his lead to around a second. With only a few to go, Cauble showed some pace, but it was not enough for Carson Sherman as he collected his third win at this year's Summer Shootout.

Due to the invert, Landon Solomito started first in the Bandit’s feature, with the Booth 34 fastest lap going to Roo Reaves, who started second. Reaves got up to first quickly as Solomito lost control on the first lap. Reaves had control for most of the 20 Lap feature, but Lucas Harrison came into his mirrors after a restart on Lap 10. Harrison gained control on a restart with six to go. Despite a few more cautions, Harrison held on for his first-ever win at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Round 1 winner Nicholas Newsome led the field to green. But right as the green flag dropped, Round 2 and 4 winner Braden Scott was right on his tail. Newsome set the pace the entire race, but Scott made a move when it mattered, coming off of Turn 4 on the final lap to secure his third win of the Shootout. A sweet graduation up to Semi-Pro for Scott as he wins in style.

Corbin Cannon started up front in the Chargers B main, but there was a man on a mission behind him, Josh Souza. Souza jumped into first place on Lap 6, and despite a surplus of yellow flags, he was able to get the job done and win the B Feature.

Race craft was the name of the game in the Chargers C Feature, where Ayden Young charged up from thirteenth to first and held off Addison Herlong for a victory.

The A Feature for Beginner Bandoleros got off to a hectic start, as the top two collected each other on Lap 5 to bring out a caution. Wyatt Linker led the field back to green as he only had one man to beat, Konner Adkison. As Adkison was chasing him down, he got loose with three to go, which let Linker stretch his gap out and take the win.

The B feature got the night started for the Beginner Bandoleros as Jordyn Whitford led them to green. Whitford had control most of the race, but Elliot Kline worked his way up the field to take the lead on lap 12 and never looked back as he took the Beginners B Feature.

The 2026 Cook Out Summer Shootout continues on Tuesday, June 30th with round 6. An autograph session and fireworks will accompany the Round 6 races at the conclusion of the night’s feature races. Replays of the first five rounds can be streamed on FloRacing, and coverage of Round 6 will begin at 6 pm ET/3 pm PT on FloRacing.
