From Rhode Island, Landon Solomito splits his time between his Bandolero and baseball, he will be going to Bandolero Championship Nationals with a chance to take home a national championship. Coming from a racing family, he aims to get into a Legend Car with a long-term goal to race modified like his Pop Pop, dad, and uncle.

1. How did you get your start in racing?

My dad used to race and my uncle still races, so that’s how I first got into it. 

2. How did you get your number?

It’s a family number from my dads side, my grandpa used it too. 

3. Who is your biggest inspiration within racing?

People I look up to in racing are locally Landon Thrasher- he is really good at his race craft and also a very clean driver which are two things I want to continue to grow at and NASCAR wise- Christopher Bell. 

4. What is your favorite racing memory?

One of them would be having a chance for Nationals. I don’t race as much as some of the other kids do because we don’t have as many races, so it’s really exciting to be in the top three in standings.

5. How do you measure success while racing?

I measure it based on where I finish in day one compared to [the last day], and then where I finish in points. If I was not as good as I was at another national event, I probably didn’t do as good. 

6. You play baseball as well, are there any similarities between the two sports?

I think they're the same and different all at once. The pressure and adrenaline are the same but in different ways. In racing it's just me trying to get a win but in baseball I have the whole team on my shoulders sometimes.

8. If you could race on one track in the world, what would I be?

South Boston

9. What are your racing goals for 2026 and beyond?

I would like to race a Legend next and my long term goal is to get into a modified like my Pop Pop, Dad and Uncle have all raced. Also, I didn't know I had a small shot at the national title. So even though at the beginning of the year that wasn't on my radar knowing that I'm even within reach of it is really cool this year. I'm hoping to have some good finishes as the rest of the year wraps up and make a good run at the title [or] top 3. 

10. What is the biggest lesson racing has taught you?

Not to get too cocky or overconfident. 

11. What are your hobbies outside of racing?

Spending time with family, playing with my brother and sister, and being active.
