Racing resumed Tuesday for the penultimate round of racing in the 2026 Cook Out Summer Shootout. As the summer draws closer to an end, the standings are shaping up, and the drivers look to cement themselves in the history books.
Chaos broke out in a packed Young Lions Feature. Landon Thrasher and Case James started the race in the front and would battle through restarts early in the race. The two would go side by side on Lap 3 with Thrasher maintaining the lead. As the race continued, a red flag on Lap 11 would be thrown from a big wreck on the back stretch. The wreck would end the race of Turner Brown, Brexton Busch, Simon Kline, and others. After coming out of the red flag, the choice once again put Thrasher and James in the front row for the restart. Thrasher would keep the lead on the restart, but after moving up from third, Colt Johnson was right behind him. The pair would battle for a few laps, but the long run pace from Thrasher put him over the top. The race would stay green after the red flag and Thrasher would find himself in victory lane for yet another feature.
The Pro Feature showcased a strong race with familiar faces. The 2024 and 2025 Summer Shootout Pro Champion Jake Bollman had the lead from the start and proved early that he was still the guy to beat. Bollman would control the race through restarts and long runs, until a caution on Lap 16 brought the pack together again. Ben Morabito would choose the front row on the outside line, a move that would play in his favor. As the race restarted, Morabito was able to get to the back bumper, and ultimately past Bollman for the lead. While he had the lead now, he still had to fend off a rapid car of Joel Smith late in the race. Smith was able to put himself in a position to win the race but could not to the lead on the final lap. Morabito, who leads the Pro Division in points, found himself in victory lane once again.
With an impressive run through the Summer Shootout, Maverick Bradshaw looked to find his way back into victory lane. He would have to battle through a competitive field, as Roo Reaves would lead the pack to the green flag after the invert. While Reaves controlled the race early, Bradshaw was able to find the pace going side-by-side with Reaves and getting the lead on Lap 9. After a restart due to Anthony Pedulla and Tayton Monroe spinning, Bradshaw was able to showcase his long run speed as the race would go clean until the end. Bradshaw would lead comfortably until the final lap, as Camden Powers had a run closing the gap at the end. Ultimately, Bradshaw’s pace was too much to handle, as he took the checkered flag, winning his sixth feature race.
Carson Sherman has been the force in the Outlaws division through the Summer Shootout so far, and Round 9 was no exception. While Tate Brewer and Carson Cauble started the race in the front row after the invert, the race showcased a phenomenal battle between Sherman, Jackson Jones, and Lucas McFall just behind them. Sherman was able to get the lead on show strong speed throughout the entire race holding off Jones, Cauble, and McFall during the race to win his sixth feature of the Summer Shootout.
Sterling Wrisley had the speed early in the VP Racing Fuels Semi-Pro Feature, starting on pole and getting out in front from the jump. Wrisley would lead for a majority of the race keeping a strong gap from his competitors. However, a restart on Lap 18 would open the door for Colton Hale to contend for the win. Hale would perform a bump and run on Lap 20 to move into the lead, a lead he would not lose as he drove himself into victory lane for the fourth time this summer.
Action started off the jump in the Dilling HVAC Masters Feature, as the front of the pack went three wide going into Turn 1. It didn’t take long for Robby Faggart to get the lead on Lap 3, as he started to build his gap to the pack. Scott Moseley began to make it uncomfortable for Faggart on Lap 16 cutting his lead to a car length. The first restart of the race would knock out contenders Kevin Rollins and Faggart, as contact in Turn 1 sent them both spinning. With the Restart coming with three laps to go, Moseley had the pace off of the jump and was able to drive himself to his first victory of the Summer Shootout.
Jordyn Whitford battled through a caution filled race to win the Beginner Bandolero B Feature.
The early parts of the Beginner Bandolero A Feature showcased a battle between Gio Anderlini and Rob Brown for the lead. After Anderlini spun on Lap 6, Brown was able to comfortably win by a margin of 4.03 seconds.
The Chargers B Feature was dominated from start to finish by Evan Garvy. After gaining the lead on Lap 3, Garvy would lead the remainder of the race finishing with a lead of 3.96 seconds.
A caution filled Chargers A Feature provided a back-and-forth battle for the lead. Craig Biryla started the race on pole and had a commanding lead throughout the early stages of the race. As the race progressed, Brady Price would take the lead, though Biryla would not let up. The two would battle side by side for multiple laps battling to keep control of the race. The race would end one lap early after the pink flag was shown, giving Price the win as the final caution flag was waived.
Replays of all nine rounds of the 2026 Cook Out Summer Shootout cann be streamed on FloRacing.com. The tenth and final round is Tuesday, July 28 with spectator gates opening at 5pm, and the Flo Racing broadcast beginning at 6pm ET / 3pm PT.
