A beautiful Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway set the stage for great INEX National Qualifier racing, part of the 28th INEX Bandolero Nationals. Over 70 Bandoleros across three divisions took the quarter-mile pavement within the walls of America's Home for Racing. After the conclusion of practice, competition began with Carter Koch (Beginner Bandoleros), Brexton Busch (Bandits) and Rylan Speight (Outlaws) earning ProFABrication Fastest Qualifier awards, with Speight having the fastest time of 18.643 seconds.

The Bandits Feature was thrilling all on its own from start to finish. Brexton Busch looking to score another 100-point victory to add to his championship standings. Leading the field to green, directly behind Busch was James Behnke, Maverick Bradshaw and Bryce Castille. They were three-wide as they headed into Turn 3 for the second position. As they came out of Turn 4, Bradshaw took control of second place. As they went into Turn 2, Castille took second place from Bradshaw. Behnke followed right behind him and took third from Bradshaw.

A caution on Lap 4, the field regrouped and Busch was able to control the restart and maintained the lead. As they headed into Turn 3, Kevin Stein, Evan Johnson, Bradshaw and Castille went four wide for fourth.  Johnson was able to secure the position. The second caution of the race came at Lap 5. Busch was able to control through the restart, though with a little more fight from Behnke, who entered the weekend second in championship points behind Busch.  On Lap 8, Gerald White III took fourth from Johnson as they went into Turn 4.

Busch was able to retain the lead into Turn 1 during the Lap 13, but swung too wide into Turn 2, costing him a few spots.  Behnke also dropped a few positions in Turn 2, which White was able to capitalize on and took the lead. White then went wide and opened the door for Cale Weavil to take the lead with six laps to go. Busch was able to jump two spots on the frontstretch and took the third position with five laps to go. Weavil and White were able to run away from the field, which made it hard for Busch to try and catch them with laps dwindling. Weavil crossed the finish line first, bringing a big upset to the Bandits Division Friday feature.  White finished second, Busch was third, and Behnke crossed the line in sixth.

The fight between championship contenders continued into the Outlaws Division, as Landon Thrasher and Rylan Speight battled one another all race. Speight led the field to green with Thrasher right behind him in second and Cameron Sherman in third. Bentley Thompson tried to take third from Thompson, but was unable to complete the pass before the caution came out. Thrasher and Speight led the field back to green and battled side by side for the first two laps, before a second caution came on Lap 2. During the restart lap, Thrasher was able to take the lead from Speight after a side-by-side one lap battle.

Carson Cauble and Jack Smith battled for fourth, which Smith took as they went out of Turn 2 on the fifth lap. Cauble and Smith continued to fight for the fourth position, until Smith was able to take it after the two-lap battle.  Right as Thrasher and Speight gave themselves a large gap between the two of them and the rest of the field, a caution came out on Lap 10.  After a lap battle on the restart, Thrasher took control of the lead.

With eight to go, Thompson went to the low side and took third from Cauble. Three laps later, Cauble then stalled on the frontstretch to bring out a caution. Thrasher and Speight were side-by-side one final time for the restart.  Thrasher managed to pull away and took control of the lead on Lap 16, driving off to yet another quarter-mile victory in 2025. Speight finished second, Thompson crossed the line in third, with Carson Sherman finishing fourth.

Carter Koch and Jagger Williams battled through Turn 2 for the lead to start the A Feature race for the Beginner Bandolero Division. Koch took the lead, while Anthony Pedulla followed behind Koch and took the second position. After a few restarts, Koch, Pedulla and Williams spaced themselves out, but also created a gap from the rest of the field. Williams spun around out of Turn 2, which cost him the third spot and Wyatt Linker took it on Lap 7.

Koch and Pedulla created a gap between them and Linker and Bundy, who also created a gap from the rest of the field as they completed Lap 10. As they came out of Turn 4, Pedulla tried to get to first in an opening, but was unable to complete the pass. With two laps to go, Pedulla got loose coming out of Turn 4, but was able to maintain second. That moment for Pedulla created a bit of a gap between him and Koch, allowing Koch to cruise to victory.

In the B Feature race for the Beginner Bandolero Division, three laps in, a collision on the track left Max Rogers without a rear body panel on his Bandolero. That didn’t slow Rogers, as he gradually climbed back towards the front of the field. With a pass in Turns 3 and 4, Rogers was able to take the lead coming to the white flag over Ellie Hodge.

The 28th INEX Bandolero Nationals concludes on Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway with a fresh round of practice and qualifying for the Bandoleros, and will include a Legend Car feature, too. Starting with ProFABrication Qualifying, coverage of Championship Saturday will begin at 3pm ET/12pm PT on USLegendCars.TV.
