What do you believe is your biggest accomplishment from this season so far?

I would say my biggest accomplishment this year was winning the 10k MLDS shoot out in Beaver Dam.

How do you believe you have grown as a driver this season?

I haven't been able to lean on the top side of tracks this year nearly as much as I have in the past so I've been having to learn to play the patience game on bottom. So I would say ive been learning how to pass when your stuck against the guard rail.

What does your pre-race routine look like?

A whole lot of music, doing my OCD checks on the car, getting my good luck handshake from Arabelle, then when I get to staging I say a little prayer and close my eyes to try and fall asleep in staging. It helps calm the nerves tremendously.

What would it mean to win Legend Car Dirt Nationals in your home state?

Winning the Dirt nationals race anywhere would be an awesome accomplishment but to try and do it in your own back yard would be crazy special.

Just being Consistent and Patient, as I run 2 cars.

What does your pre-race routine look like?

Look at the track with my friend Ryan Braseth, to see what the track is  going to throw at us and discuss racing.

When learning a new track for the first time, what is the most important thing for a dirt racer to keep in mind?

Being patient, to see how everyone else drives, so I can make my moves, Slow is fast, and throttle control.

What do you believe is your biggest accomplishment from the dirt season so far?

I would say say my biggest accomplishment from this dirt season is winning our series championship with the Ohio Valley Legend Car Series and winning a track championship at Moler Raceway Park, as well.

How do you believe you have grown as a driver this season?

I feel like I’ve grown a lot as a driver this year by having experience underneath my belt. Last year was the first year I raced as much as possible and within that season I learned a lot about making adjustments to my race car as well as being able to adapt to certain track conditions. Having that experience underneath me has helped me improve alot this year not only as a driver but by allowing me to test different adjustments and setups to help fine tune my equipment. I feel like we’ve also been a-lot more consistent when it comes to things like our lap times and finishes which is a very crucial part to putting yourself in a good spot for national points.

What does your pre-race routine look like?

I don’t really have a specific pre-race routine. Usually we race two or three days a weekend all back to back. So a lot of times when we go to a different racetrack the day after a race, I maintenance my equipment which could include changing gears, checking bolts, etc. Other than that, I usually just hangout with my fellow racers until it’s race time.

What challenges do you anticipate racing in North Dakota coming from Ohio?

Probably the biggest challenge I anticipate racing in North Dakota is never racing there before. The guys I’m racing against including Ty Olson and both the Madler brothers are really solid drivers and have tons of laps and experience around Nodak while I have none. However, I am really confident in my equipment and with there being a practice day I think I’ll be able to get the hang of the race track and how it races pretty quick. but I know it’s going to be very crucial for us to be on our "A" game because one small mistake can cost us a national championship.

How do you believe you have grown as a driver this season?

Learned from some big mistakes and have gotten better from them. Takes time in the shop to see improvement on the track.

What does your pre-race routine look like?

Make sure I'm not hungry, stay hydrated, try to calm the nerves and get focused up. Visualize the race and be focused to hit my marks.

What would it mean to win Legend Car Dirt Nationals in your home state?

It would mean a lot, worked hard all season to get there. One of my goals especially in front of family, friends, fans, and sponsors

Seat time is key and with 5 years under our belt now I have learned a lot and have made mistakes that I have been able to learn from. Learning and trusting my car more and more each night.

What does your pre-race routine look like?

I do not really have a pre-race routine, I just try to stay hydrated and focused on the race.

What would it mean to win Legend Car Dirt Nationals in your home state?

Donavin Wiest – Masters – T-1st - 1900 Points

Top 5’s: 32

Tracks: Brown County Speedway, Dacotah Speedway, Jamestown Speedway, McLean County Speedway, Southwest Speedway, Tri-County Speedway

What do you believe is your biggest accomplishment from this season so far?

For me, being able to win a few races this year against some of the best drivers is always a big accomplishment.

How do you believe you have grown as a driver this season?

I think I've done a better job at just being happy and enjoying the time at the track with family and friends and just keep trying to improve more and more every race

What does your pre-race routine look like?

I just like getting to the race track early to relax and get focused on the race, I’m also a little superstitious when it comes to numbers and certain foods to stay away from on race days.

You’ve won Legend Car Dirt Nationals once before in Springfield, what would it mean to win it in your home state?

It would definitely mean a lot to be able to win this in my home state, it’s something that I may never get the chance to do again and to do it with friends and family around along with some of my great sponsors that will be there would definitely make it extra special!

2nd Glenn Mitchell – Masters – T-1st - 1900 Points Minnesota

Starts: 35

Wins: 28

Top 5’s: 34

What do you believe is your biggest accomplishment from this season so far?

This might be a surprise to many, but the thing that has given me the most satisfaction this year has been the amount of drivers and fans that have come up to me after the racing and commented on how much they have enjoyed racing with me or watching me, it’s absolutely been amazing this year. In particular the comments from folks on both sides of the fence in regards to how clean and respectful my racing has been. That’s worth more to me than trophies and what I’d prefer to be remembered for.

How do you believe you have grown as a driver this season?

This year we’ve had a different situation in regards to racing prep in the traditional sense, we’ve been travelling around a lot which means we haven’t had a workshop to do race car preparation with scales, measuring equipment, a level concrete work surface etc.

What does your pre-race routine look like?

not much apart from focusing on the job at hand and trying to ignore whatever else is happening around me.

Are you more motivated to win this year’s Dirt Nationals after coming up short in 2024?

my attitude to racing, particularly in the US, is just to make a good account of myself and to represent myself well for Joe Ryan’s race team and Australia. The guys at Joe Ryan Racecars went out of their way to support me when I was the racing equivalent of a rescue dog lol and asked for nothing in return for which I’m very grateful .
