Maci Prowell brings her Florida pride with her wherever she races, whether that is in her signature beach sunset car or with her bubbly personality. She is learning what it takes to go up against tough competition and is loving every opportunity she has to learn and grow, whether from her dad or from other drivers on the track.

1. How did you get your start in racing?
My dad is a big NASCAR fan and when I was little, he used to take me to short track races locally. Then when I was seven years old, we started going to e-kart places and that’s when I caught the bug for racing! Shortly after that, he got me a champ kart and I ran dirt and asphalt ovals.
2. How did you pick the number 16?
At first, I wanted to be the number 7, but at the time it was taken. I basically had to pick any other number and 16 was the first one I picked and it has stuck ever since.
3. Who is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is my dad. He has always been very supportive of me and he always helps me understand and learn new things. He is very good at teaching me about stuff for racing and just life overall. He has always also never given up, and I think that is what I love most about him!
4. What is your favorite racing memory?
I have a lot of good racing memories, so I can’t really pick a definite favorite one. If I had to pick one, it would probably be during Spring Nationals at Highland Rim when all of the drivers were together playing manhunt.
5. How do you get focused before a race?
I do two different things actually. Sometimes I like to sing in my car to kind of calm myself down and then other times instead of singing I will finger drum on the side of my car. I actually realized during the summer that I have started a chain while I drum and other drivers will do it with me as well, which is really cool.
6. What is your favorite track and why?
Charlotte Motor Speedway is my favorite, both for the track and the environment while being there. There is a lot of good competition at Charlotte and it is also just a really fun track to be at.
7. What life lessons has racing taught you so far?
Racing has taught me a lot of patience and how to never give up on yourself and what you are passionate about.
8. What are your ultimate racing goals?
Well, my dream goal is to get into the Cup Series one day. My main goal though is to climb the ladder for ovals and road courses and go up through Legends and Late Models or really pretty much anything. I want to do whatever I can to get up to NASCAR.
9. Where would be your dream place to travel for a race?
I have been to lots of tracks and lots of places, but I would love to travel and race up in New York. They have some pretty cool tracks up there.
10. What advice would you give to other young girls who are just starting out in racing?
My best advice for girls is to never give up to the boys. Just because there are more of them on the track doesn’t mean they are going to beat you.
11. What is one thing outside of racing that most people don't know about you?
I love water sports like surfing, kneeboarding, and tubing. I actually just caught my first wave on my own while surfing not too long ago.
12. How did you decide the colors and design of your car?
Well, I chose the sunset and sunrise with some beach accents because I live in Florida and the main thing people go to see there are the beaches. I thought the beach would be perfect since I wanted to show that I am a Florida driver and love the beach. I have a great sponsor, Extreme Decals, that I trust to pick out the best colors and bring the Florida beach to life, but I always like to have some pinks and teals in it.
