From sim racing, to going 130 mph in Legend Car, Nate Morris has been connected to cars from a young age. Still new to phyically racing cars, 2025 was a year of massive gains and has recently tried out road course racing, already calling the ROVAL at Charlotte Motor Speedway one of his favorite tracks. He hopes 2026 yields more gains, success, and some checkered flags.

1. How did you get your start in racing?
I have always been around cars my whole life. My family business was a used car lot, and so I grew up around cars and loved driving and going to car shows. I got the opportunity during COVID to do some sim racing, and fell in love with it, and finally in 2023 I got the chance to get into Legend Car racing, and it has really stuck from there.
2. How did you get your number?
I played NASCAR video games when I first got into it, and I always used the number 28 because it was close to the Hendrick 24 car which I was a fan of. When I started racing, I wasn’t a fan of 28 so I landed on 25 because it was close to the 24 car [number]. I also was born in 2005, so it worked out taking the zeros out of the year.
3. Who is your biggest inspiration?
As far as racing goes it is people who were able to make things happen with their career without having things handed to them. You look at guys like Butterbean (Brenden Queen), who didn’t have a clear path in racing but has worked up to getting the Kaulig truck ride, and Josh Berry who made a great career for himself from short track racing.
4. What is your favorite racing memory?
One of the weekends I’ll remember for the rest of my life was at Summit Point they had a vintage race. The track was beautiful and we were going 130 mph while bump drafting that alone was a great experience. At Florence I also got to race against Kyle Busch and ended up finishing above him in the race. That was a cool experience, and I never thought I would be able to say I raced against a [NASCAR] Cup driver.
5. How do you get focused before a race?
I try to be as focused as I can, and once I put my helmet on, I tend to just get prepared and don’t worry about anything but the race.
6. How do you measure success while racing?
I measure success by just continuing to improve. I haven’t had the most success as a drive at this point, but I haven’t stagnated, and as long as I am improving every race and learning from the ups and downs then I would say that it is a success.
7. What's the best part about racing on asphalt?
I think it’s the technicality of it. People always say it’s just going in circles, but the technicality of racing on asphalt is just immense. There is such a small margin for error, and you can find the line quickly, but you are always fine tuning it. It never feels the same it feels like you always have to work on it.
8. What is your favorite track?
I definitely think the ROVAL was the best. Being on banking that steep was really cool. I would also say Florence because of how worn out the track is, and how smooth you have to be, but you can still send the car.
9. What was the ROVAL experience like?
It was the wildest thing. You make that tight left hand turn onto the big track and it’s like nothing you’ve ever done. You understand what it’s like when someone gets into an ARCA car or a truck for the first time on the track. I can’t compare it to anything I’ve ever done. We had a caution and I was just sitting there thinking about all of the history of the track was cool to be a part of.
10. What are your racing goals for 2026?
My plan for this year is to try and win some races. I think we laid some great groundwork from last season, so to be able to try and win some national races this season would be great. Other than that, to put myself in a position to be a contender is a goal that I think is not out of the realm of possibility for this season.
11. If you could race at any track in the world, what would it be?
For NASCSR tracks I would say Daytona or the Charlotte oval because it’s the pinnacle of oval racing. Other than that, I would say the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It’s such a unique track with how long it is, I would love to try that.
12. What are some of your hobbies outside of racing?
My main hobby is my YouTube channel and my social media that I do. I think it’s a great tool that drivers have now. Being able to show people the experiences I have for people who don’t get to experiences in racing is enjoyable. Other than that, I enjoy driving almost anything. Anything with a motor in it I enjoy getting behind the wheels and trying them out.
