1. How did you get your start in racing?
We started our watching on of our friend’s race go-karts. My dad asked if it was something that I wanted to do and I did. The first time I went out on the track, I cried and said that I didn’t want to do it. When I got done with the race I had the biggest smile on my face. I ran go-karts for six years and started running Legends in 2024.
2. How did you get your number?
I started off as number 27, because of my birthday. One day I just woke up and decided I wanted to be the 14T, 14 for no reason and the T for Talyn.
3. Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
I would say my dad because of what he taught me. He also got me started in racing and has always been one of my biggest supporters.
4. In your opinion, what about dirt track racing is exciting?
I would say the multiple grooves. Being able to run different lines and how different each track is.
5. How do you get focused before a race?
I just strap in the car and lock in.
6. What is your favorite racing memory?
The 10k Legends Dirt Showdown in 2025. I was the only Young Lion to make the show out of 60+ cars. I ran in third place after starting 18th and that was just a great feeling for our team.
7. What is your favorite track to race at?
Beaver Dam Raceway, I started racing go-karts there. I won three track championships in go-karts there, and I ran legends there on the big track which was really cool.
8. How do you measure success while racing?
Having good consistency and top finishes. Just try and improve weekly and be the best I can
9. What are your racing goals for 2026?
Win the Midwest Legends Dirt Series points championship, and try and Win the Young Lions national championship.
10. You also play basketball outside of racing. How do you balance doing 2 competitive sports?
Sometimes I have to skip basketball to go racing. We don’t have a weekend where we aren’t doing anything, its super busy.
11. If you could race at any track in the world, what would it be?
Fairbury Speedway, because I race it on iRacing a lot and it has two grooves which makes it really fun.
12. What's the biggest lesson that racing has taught you in life?
It's taught me a lot, but I would say work ethic. You have to put the time in the shop to be successful.
