Although Turner Brown just transitioned from go-karts to Legend Cars in February, he already has multiple wins under his belt at events such as Thursday Thunder at EchoPark Speedway. As the Cook Out Summer Shootout is now underway, Brown has his eyes set on a top three when it is all said and done.

Hometown: Alamo, California

Number: 22

Division: Young Lions

Team: Donny St. Ours Racing

Favorite Track: Kristianstad Karting Circuit

1. How did you get your start in racing?

I started through go-karts about five years ago, just driving at local tracks.

2. How did you get your number?

I had a different number all throughout karting, and I pretty much had the 22 at the start of the year because it was Donny’s number and it just kind of stuck. So now I’m running it for shootout and all the other races.

3. Who is your biggest inspiration?

Probably a guy like Max Verstappen because of his mentality.

4. What is your favorite racing memory?

Probably winning Super-Nationals, the double. Just because it was a super special moment for my family and me, and it was awesome to win that event.

5. What made you switch from karts, and how has that transition been?

This February I kind of just decided I wanted to come back home from Europe racing go-karts and race some cars in the U.S., and I think that the oval route was best. So in February I kind of just got linked with Donny, and from there it’s taken off. [Legend Cars are] very different from a go-kart to drive, and the way you have to race it is completely different.

6. How do you measure success while racing?

Measuring my success in Legends would probably just be consistency and the ability to be there every weekend. You know, keep getting podiums and racking them up.

7. How was your experience competing in go-karts overseas at such a young age?

That’s probably the toughest thing I’ve done, just being away from home for months on end and just like how serious and tough the racing is there. So it was definitely hard on me mentally and physically, and for me that was the toughest thing I’ve done so far.

8. What is your favorite track you have raced at?

I’m gonna go with Kristianstad in Sweden. That’s where the world championship was, and it’s pretty much a perfect textbook track for go-karts. It has special things to it, and it’s just an overall good facility.

9. What are your racing goals for 2026 and beyond?

I would like to ideally have a shot at winning the points for the Shootout, and if not, then just staying in the top three of those points. Like staying in the top three consistently, and learning as much as I can in Legends. Just like how the oval racing and the race craft are and stuff like that.

10. What is one track you would want to race on?

If I could choose any track to race on, it would probably be PF International in England. That place is really cool, like the two-story going above the bridge and everything.

11. What is the biggest lesson racing has taught you?

Probably just to enjoy it. Sometimes I get caught up with the competitiveness, but I just try to enjoy it frequently.

12. What are some of your hobbies outside of racing?

I like to golf; golf is probably one of my biggest hobbies. Fishing’s fun, mountain biking is fun for me, pretty much anything with two wheels or a bike.
