The first race of the day was the Beginner Bandolero race, where Harley Johnson assumed an early lead. The first two caution of the race for Michael Mazzagatti spinning in turn two on lap three and Camden Truett, Evan Johnson, Bryson Nichols, and Addison Martinez all collided on Lap 4. Matt Hodges snatched the lead from Harley Johnson on the Lap 6 restart, but spun in turn two three laps later while still leading. Harley Johnson regained control of the race and was in control until a caution on Lap 15 brought the field once again together. Brexton Busch and battled with Harley Johnson battled side-by-side into the corner, with Busch prevailing on Lap 16. He’d survive one more caution, resulting in a one-lap shootout, and won the Beginner Bandolero race – his first Bandolero victory.

The Charger division rolled off second, and from the start it was Austin Bloodworth maintaining control of the race. Several cautions were scattered through the feature, but Bloodworth held off all challenges from Anastasia Markovic and Joseph Viverito. In the end, the race ended under caution.

Joel Smith started on pole in the Pro division race, jumping to an early lead over Landon Rapp and Landen Lewis. The race made it to halfway before a caution was displayed. Tristan McKee spun on his own in turn three and on the restart, a second caution was immediately displayed for several cars crashing. On the next restart, Rapp moved Smith out of the way. With 10 laps to go, another crash on the backstretch brought the race to a red flag. After intense battles for the top position, it was Donovan Strauss taking home the checkered flag.

On the opening lap of the Outlaws race, Jayden Johnson scooted his way into the lead over Ayden Christensen. Johnson would maintain that lead through two restarts, but Christensen was close behind. With three laps to go, Ben Morabito and Bryson Brinkley spun in turn two. On the restart, Christensen had the advantage over Johnson, but a caution involving three cars erased the new found lead for him. Johnson would survive the final restart and lapped traffic to capture his second career win.

Once the Young Lions race went green, pole sitter Beckham Malone was challenged by Cooper Gaul and Jackson Denton. Malone slipped down the field and Denton soon was in the lead, overtaking Gaul. On Lap 6, Neal Dulin, Max Reaves, and Darren Krantz Jr. crashed, but Denton retained the lead on the restart. Gage Gilby was working to pass Gaul but another caution flew. On the next restart, Denton missed a shift and the field split him. Now Keelan Harvick and Gaul were battling for the lead, with Gilby in tow. Denton reentered the picture and was soon back in the lead just in time for another caution. At the halfway point, Denton lead the field with Harvick passing Gilby for second, bringing Ayrton Brockhouse with him. On a restart following a caution for Alex Meggs, Denton suffered another minor issue, resulting in Harvick taking the lead briefly. On one final restart, Brockhouse battled Denton, with Brockhouse making the final pass for the win on the last lap.

The Semi-Pro race fired off side-by-side with the front row of Mason Lastra and George Phillips the first to single file out. The first half of the race was caution free, with Lastra maintaining his lead as he began to maneuver through lapped traffic, with Phillips in second, Carson Haislip in third with Jadan Bowling and Sean McElearney chasing him. The first caution was for Owen Mahar’s spin with assistance from Shawn English. Phillips the lead on the restart but was erased by another caution. On the next restart, Bowling missed the corner, taking Phillips and Lastra with him, handing the lead to Haislip. He kept control of the race through a few more cautions, going on to win his first career Semi-Pro race, in his first career start.

Lane Christensen was the pole sitter in the Bandit race, but LaQuan McCoy took control early. Christensen didn’t lay down however, as he quickly was back on his bumper. The pair were forced to split a slow car into turn three, handing the lead to Christensen. The same happened to third-place Wyatt Coffey, who fell to sixth in one corner due unfortunate timing of him catching slow traffic. Moments later, leader Christensen spun off turn four. He went to the back of the field and McCoy was back in the lead. Levi Morrow and Colt Johnson looked to steal the lead from McCoy, but none succeeded. McCoy won, taking his first career oval victory in the Bandit division.

Aside from a single caution early in the race, the final race of the day was clean with the Masters field showing off their expertise. Josh Mullins was the leader from the word “go” but Robbie Woodall was never too far behind. Before the field hit lapped traffic, Mullins was inching away from Woodall. With only a few laps remaining, Woodall began to inch closer to Mullins. Woodall got to the inside of Mullins’ car, but he spun. Mullins crossed the start-finish line just as the yellow flew for Kevin Foisy’s spin, and would maintain the win, but the finish reverted back to the previous lap, giving Woodall a second-place.

Round two races begin at noon today from Citrus County Speedway, followed by Rounds 3, 4, and 5 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
